Waffle on the street kind of day

Daylight saving time is one of the most confusing thing when I started to live in the US. To tell more specifically, standard time was too tough. No, it's still hard to me. I'm even scared of it. Winter in New York is too cold, wet, and dark.

So, we should hurry up! Enjoy this shiny days.
Go to walk a lot, eat something on the street, drink coffee at the park more.

Don't forget to try this sweetest in the world waffles when you find this yellow vender in the city.

New York City Yarn Crawl @ Knitty city

As a knitting/crochet obsessed lady, New york city is the best place to live. Each neighborhoods have unique and nice yarn stores. Mine has Knitty city.
Honestly,  Knitty city is not so spacious and not so trendy as Purl S***. BUT, they have really good and various programs, like men's knitting night or kids knitting class, and very sweet staffs. I'm kind of proud of that my neighborhood has this sweet yarn store.

By the way, have you already visited yarn store this weekend? 11 yarn stores in the city now having an event which is named Yarn Crawl.  This is nice chance to explore New york city and yarn of course. Hurry up ladies!

Autumn in Williams-sonoma store

Williams-sonoma is one of my favorite store in the world. I'm so much inspired every time I visit the store. I specially love their simple and elegant package design.

Feels so autumn by the way. I can't wait to bake some pumpkin bread and apple pies!!! From fall to winter is just the happiest time for me, but don't tell summer :D

Earth cafe

Having a gorgeous neighborhood cafe is one of the most pleasant thing in city life and I am so much proud of my neighborhood has this.

Earth cafe is bright and cozy. They have nice brunch menu and they even serve wines! How perfect brunch is this. Also they have sidewalk seats ✔︎
Absolutely one of my favorites.

Afternoon walking at Upper west side

People seems like think New york is Times square kind of city. That's not wrong. Times square is absolutely one part of New york but there's so much more. Some New yorker say above 14th street is not New york, some say apposite, some say Brooklyn is real New york now. etc.
But hey, everything is New york. New york has everything and all of those parts makes New york. Doesn't it?

Some parts of New york are hectic (Times square. of course) but some are unbelievably calm. West end avenue of Upper west side is not so much like New york. But we all know, this is also an important part of shiny New york.

What knitting and crocheting mean to me

I am a big fan of hand craft. I absolutely am.  I love that peaceful time with cozy yarn and needles.

I've been a knitter since I was a kindergartener. I can never forget the cold winter days my mom was knitting besides me. She got me some scrap yarns sometimes and it would be my precious toys. She never taught me how to knit, crochet neither, but I leaned it very naturally.

In my country, winter comes with scent of clementines. Everyone loves clementines. Specially my mom. So, when the air is chilled I always buy a basket of clementines and stock up some soft wool. All set. Now it's time for cozy, warm, peaceful, and nostalgic knitting.

I'm working on multiple projects because that is more inspiring. Introducing current ones.
Super bulky crochet for the first time, scrap yarn infinity scarf, and freshly finished new skill samples.

Guggenheim

I just love this simple, white, a little weird, big snail like building. I love the whole things, even the warm breeze, in ordinary Saturday afternoon. One african american sings lovely songs, street venders make joke to tourists, people chatting and eating in front of this building...

If someone asks me which building is my favorite in New york, I would absolutely answer it is Guggenheim. Unbelievably innovative and trendy forever building.

Shopping at Muji

Muji is one of my favorite shops in the world. I love their simple design. Even those are so functional. When I moved to Japan for my overseas research years, I bought almost all things in my small apartment at Muji. Muji is way cheaper in Japan than you think. I go Muji store around Times square sometimes and always get shocked at the tags! Those are so so so much overpriced.

But no way. I still shop at Muji. Here's my loots :D

The Japanese soup bowls I got this time are kind of pricy. Those are looks like plastic bowls but no. Those are natural Lacquer polished wood which called U-ru-shi in Japanese. The right way to have Japanese soup is putting up the bowl. So fine Japanese dining wares are very light weight.

Oh! and I bought one pack of Origami and already made some paper canes. Thinking of make something pretty by those. I'm gonna post it soon.

Simply cooked home breakfast

I usually go to grocery shopping in the afternoon but today's morning shopping was so precious. Looks everything fresher in the morning. I grabbed a bunch of asparagus and a bag of seedless grapes.

Sunny side up eggs, fried with a splash of olive oil asparagus, slices of Canadian bacon. No difficult sauce or dressing. Just added a pitch of sea salt and pepper. So simple and easy cooking but that is full of freshness and joy.

Those are really good with my home baked biscuits. This Quick Yogurt Scones Recipe is really quick and healthy. I need to mix it up more carefully though ;p

The Good morning basket

A couple of weeks ago, I bought one copy of magazine and so much inspired one topic about getting organized. This idea is from the magazine.

Some items always come together. For example, a french coffee press comes with coffee beans and cups. Then why don't you put the all items in a basket? Boom! the result? So relaxing mornings. What I need to do for my morning coffee is just pulling the basket out from kitchen shelves. This is really simple idea but life can be totally changed by small ideas.

One summer evening at Riverside park in New york

This summer was 4th one in New york for me. I've come to NY a very steamy and hot summer day, and of course, hate that so much. I can never forget that day. I was literally REGRET coming to the city.

But things going to be changed. During 3 full years, I made so many memories. Although some of those are not so pleasant, now I'm loving to live here New york city as like many New yorkers think. The most precious memory is that I got a baby.
River side park is the nearest park from my home at that time. My husband took me a walk after his working hour. It was a summer evening just like now. We talked about his dream, my feeling as a pregnant woman, and about our baby. Now that baby who was in my belly is sleeping beside my dest, we moved from the apartment which is the smallest one I can imagine. But still Riverside park is our nearest one.
I go to walk in the afternoon with my baby on her stroller and miss last summer sometimes.

Going to IKEA

I don't remember where I heard this, but anyway, IKEA is grown ups' Disney Land. Totally agreed.
And even funnier when I get there by a water taxi. The weather was good, my 7 month old baby was well behaved today, MTA train has no trouble, and the water taxi has arrived just after my hubby got tickets! yay!!! Everything was perfect today.

We had a lot of fun, and I bought some items for final (hope to be) brushing up my little apartment. Can't wait to blog about it but today I''m too tired to set all items up.
Just quick pics today.
